Welcome, I am Tressa Henson a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been committed to collaborating with individuals, couples, adolescents and families for over 15 years. I continue to strive in helping individuals to overcome mental health concerns and life challenges. It is my commitment to help individuals master the use of coping skills and strategies in conjunction with using their inner strengths to maximize self-regulation and life satisfaction.
My personal work journey has provided me with a plethora of opportunities and professional knowledge in areas of mental health and life stress; specializing in:
· Unhealthy anxiety and depression, grief/loss, anger issues
· Relationship Issues, couple counseling, intimate partner and domestic violence
· Parenting, work/school/life balance and vocational coaching.

· Co-occurring disorders and community resource connecting
It has also been rewarding and honor to with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. My background with growing up in a major city created a natural ability to embrace individuals from different backgrounds, communities, cultures, spiritual and other influences. It is a highlight that I pride myself on and it has been integral to providing cultural competency, in private and organizational settings.
As a graduate with a degree in rehabilitation counseling, with community inclusion, I continue to stay current with engaging in training and community volunteerism. I use evidenced-based cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and solution focused approach. I take a holistic approach while providing a safe space, privacy and a place to discovery personal growth. You can tailor your path in a non-judgmental session. A session with me is not without humor at times.
In my personal time journey, I enjoy all things natural, indie arts/poetry and grassroots, while developing coloring sheets that encourage healthier self-image and positive self-talk. It has allowed me to share some of my own experiences through art via coloring worksheets designed to be empowering and reflective of self-care and positive affirmations.
